Pencil Skirts in the Desert

I'm in love with the desert. Even back in the day, when  a 7th grade summer camp trip took me to Israel's most southern spot and pushed the desert - bare, magical - in my face, my hate of nature cracked and the desert managed to creep in. In Israel, I loved going to Mitzpe Ramon and the Indinegev festival, and the desert became a true friend. That type of friendship happens when something stops being intimidating and foreign, yet the mystery and fascination are still there.

Although I'm not sure about the pencil skirt, Gerar Darel's spring 2015 look book captured my love for the desert with its retro safari feel. The glamping vibes are looming large, and a vintage radio is involved (in the desert!) but some things, such as look books, must remain naive I guess. The US has plenty of desert space too, the most breathtaking I've seen so far in Arizona, and even if I cant picture myself parading in the wilderness in heels, I still crave the desert this spring.
