I follow my friend Inna wherever she goes. I met her through relatives when visiting Australia back in 2007, and when she moved to the Big Apple I started visiting. When she lived in Spanish Harlem, I explored Spanish Harlem. Now she lives in Bushwick and I had no choice but to come check it out.
Vintage dress // Gap oxfords // DVRA clutch // vintage belt
Whenever I come to New York, I marvel at its urban smorgasbord, its long lines and its restlessness - in the best sense of the word. Once embedded in that atmosphere, I immediately shed my Californian layers and gravitate towards strong, put-together pieces - which in my case apparently means a plaid belted dress. My friend's roommate recommended Urban Jungle, the store from which this dress came into my life - it was love at first sight. Accessorized with my favorite white oxfords and the unlikely clutch, it was a highly wearable look - I spent the whole day walking around - as well as a very colorful one.
I'm rounding up a sweet new guide for MORE foodie stops around New York City, so stay tuned - and check out the 5 Foolproof Eateries guide from my previous visit.
