Recently, I like Oakland more and more - so much so, that we're contemplating to live there. Lacking San Francisco's magical aesthetic, it makes up in character, grit and that elusive 'new kid on the block' vibe. It's the bay area's Brooklyn, no doubt (and a great place for a staycation - coming up soon on Bicoastalista!). Looking for a new place can be daunting, so of course I brought my new favorite coat on a careful real estate exploration. For comfort, you know, because it certainly doesn't keep you warm.
Pull&Bear shirt // Gap jeans // Vintage shoes and coat // Liebling Berlin leather bracelet
Every girl needs a totally indulgent, impractical coat. This vintage find, a garage sale gem, is useless when it comes to heat and protection, but there's something so nonchalant, so 'fashion week' about its helplessness and beauty. Paired with my favorite denim pieces, it surely gave me a competitive edge - from a stylish perspective, if not credit score-wise. Oakland's shabby chic provided plenty of backgrounds, and even though the apartment gods didn't shower us with gifts, the day felt elegant and well-spent; as it should be when wearing a coat of such kind.
